Why is it called Patrizzi Dial?
Osvaldo Patrizzi was born in 1945 and since a very young age he had a passion for watches. In 1974 in Geneva he founded Galerie d’ Horlogerie Ancienne, which was renamed Antiquorum in 1981. In 2007 he founded his own auction house Patrizzi & Co. Auctioneers. Today Antiquorum remains as one of the most important auction houses for fine pieces in the world.
The Patrizzi dial is meant to designate Rolex Daytonas reference 16520 made between 1994 and 1995 also called “ Zenith Daytona”. The counters of this Rolex were originally black, however, the organic varnish used to protect the dial called Zapon didn't protect some models enough. With time, this caused the silver outer tracks of the sub-dials to oxidize, turning them brown.
Osvaldo Patrizzi, founder of Antiquorum, was who discovered the anomaly in 2005 when he was selling a collection of Rolex Watches Ref 16520 with brown subdials.

The Royal Oak might be one of the most iconic watches from Audemars Piguet.
It was created in 1972 by Gerard Genta, who had been previously designing watches for Omega like Constellation and Seamaster models.
It was the first sport watch for Audemars Piguet which was known for its luxury dress watches. It was also iconic because it was made of steel, which wasn't common for the watches at the time.
The Royal Oak is octogonal and its original case size is 41mm, it's available in 18k rose gold, 18k white gold, and steel. The dial has a distinctive decoration "Tappisserie" style giving the watch a strong sense of depth.
